Bjorn Bear Baby Quilt // Gifts

Wow, it's been a while huh? A very happy 2019 to you and welcome back to my tiny corner of the internet. Our little lady arrived 11 days overdue in May last year and the last 8 months have flown by in a blur!

I was of course aware that time and sleep would be in short supply, but what I hadn't anticipated was quite how mentally exhausting caring for an infant would be. I touched upon this subject and my frustration at simply not having much brainpower left for sewing in an Instagram post a few months back.

So I've taken a wee break from both making and blogging... But I'm back at the machine (...and boy, what a machine! more on that next time) and it feels SO GOOD to have something finished to share with you folks; A baby quilt made for my Bestie upon the arrival of her own precious little one.

Seamwork Almada // Blomma Voile Robe

Seamwork Almada Robe via SEWN Sewing Blog

Back for one last quick post before the arrival of our little lady in (hopefully) the next few days.

I've heard from friends that the postnatal ward will likely be pretty warm and as I couldn't find a lightweight dressing gown I liked which wasn't quite expensive, naturally I decided to dive into the stash and make one! Enter the 'Almada' robe by Seamwork.

Handmade Baby Quilt // Home

Geometric Baby Quilt via SEWN Sewing Blog

Hi friends! I'm straying from the dressmaking path to share a few quick pictures of my latest finish plus a few thoughts on nursery plans. After agonising over fabric choices and pattern options I made this simple geometric quilt for my little girl who is due in May (which is now creeping up rather more quickly that I'd realised!).

Plan B Tee // Blush Knit Basic

Blush cloned RTW tee via SEWN sewing blog.

For a while I've been meaning to up my basics with a few staple tees. I've toiled a couple but have found myself short on fitting patience of late so I've put off the alterations needed. Enter this basic scoop neck tee with sleeve cuffs and curved hem. It's a clone of a very tired holey RTW tee which I really liked (and which oddly still went around my ever expanding belly!).

Tilly & the Buttons Bettine // Blossom Viscose

Mama Bettine by Tilly & the Buttons via SEWN sewing blog.

You guys, I'm so glad that February has arrived as the start of this year has been a crappy one. My partner and I have both been ill for the best part of January and we had to say goodbye to our beloved house bunnies last week which was utterly heartbreaking.

In the spirit of focusing on more positive things I thought it was about time I got to sharing one of my planned maternity capsule garments and the first of my #2018MakeNine projects, the 'Mama Bettine' maternity pattern by Tilly & the Buttons which I made a few weeks ago.

Knitting Plans // On The Needles

Knitting Plans, SEWN Sewing Blog

Hi Friends. Sadly 2018 has gotten off to a very germy start. I have a dress tantalisingly close to completion but a really nasty cold has me sofa-bound for now. I've just received a big delivery of yarn from Wool Warehouse so I thought I'd take a little departure from my usual sewing theme and share a few of the knitting plans I have up my sleeve instead.

Pattern Plans // Capsule Wardrobe

Hello again! I do hope, whatever you've been up to over the Christmas break, that you're refreshed and in good spirits. I've a little more capsule planning to share today including both maternity sewing patterns and potential pattern hack options.
